Poem — Essay

I pulled out all the stops to impress you,
A real blunder-bust, You ate it up,
And what a great time that was
Unknowing my regurgitation of
Every kind word you'd ever said.
You do love yourself, you owe this to me,
Thanks to achieving what no diet would,
Not exercise, resolution, nor religion,
Just taking pride in someone else’s speech.
