Poem — The Conversationalist
This is a hypothetical conversation
Like the ones we usually have
I recite them in the mirror
To see the way they make you feel
This is a hypothetical reaction
I practice those too
I didn’t mean to make you cry
But you have no right to twist my words
Or scream and spit in my face the ways you do
I come to you seeking comfort
I come to you for a resolution
Though at times you may not listen
You turn around defeat
I am disappointed
The way we handled this
Face-to-Face let's talk soon
Though it won’t be new to me
Rarely your words ever are
